The first day of Autumn was magical. Sun would break through the rain clouds and puddles would shine. Wind would sing through the trees and cough out a dead branch or two. I decided to try out blogging. Nothing philosophical. Nature, food, cats, etc. No deadline for writing. No comments.

Hah! Nearly the end of March 2017. It's been over two years since I've looked at this blog. Sheesh, a lot has changed. I'll be trying to figure out how to really used this thing for my own use and maybe others. We will see. We've moved out of the city up the river to a quiet hamlet. A nice place with lots of trees and plants. It is a joy to figure out what we have spring wise as we moved in late summer. I know we have lots of lillies lol. The main reason I've re-started the blog is to find out what's in the garden, log the plants and then find out what to do with them. Looks like we have a Goat Willow (Salix caprea) at the road end of Hummingbird Island. The other end is home to a Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) and it's pretty huge. In between are Rhodies, Clematis and something else. Under the willow tree are Lemon Balm and that orange flowering thing (get name) that is great for hummingbirds.  Some of the plants I purchased from Heiko survived th

Add c Chandra likes the setup for the harmonioum Lazy day today. Kicking back in the living room, a nice fire keeping the house warm and two sleeping kitties keeping me company. Hubby raised the harmonium so the angle of arms won't put my fingers to sleep. I really like it. The weaving bench he made a couple of months ago is a perfect organ bench with a couple of pillows added. Granted a harmonium is not a full size organ, yet, the set-up is comfy and kinda like the old days LOL Finally got the phone app to work on the IdeaPad Flex. My Gods, typing messages to people is so much easier and less painful. Interesting that I'm taking this quarantine time to 1) acknowledge the pain in my hands and 2) do something about it. The nerve tests are postponed till the clinic can get back to 'normal.' So, the wrist braces I purchased are terrific for sleeping with and for just keeping the right hand steady. I didn't realize that I clench my fists when I sleep. Hey

Praise be! After four days of fasting, drinking only water and only sleeping and peeing Simon is moving around! Not far mind you. He walked to the kitchen and sat next to the food spot. Call me surprised. He slurped up some tuna juice, let Merlin cover him with kitty kisses, let me clean his eyes, growled once, realized I was not going to let him outside and went back to bed, purring.
